Rahm Emanuel Announces Gun Buyback Funding in Chicago

According the news, Emanuel’s buyback program is up to the community to organize, which means that if the citizens don’t want to get rid of their guns, there won’t be an event. The already strict taxes and regulations on gun stores and gun owners have done nothing to reduce violence in the windy city. In fact, statistics show that there have actually been a surge in gun-related homicides.

According to ABC 7, Emanuel’s buyback funding opens the door for community groups to “apply to the Chicago Police Department” (CPD) and to “be responsible for organizing and advertising the event.” CPD personnel will help the groups “recover the guns at each event and provide cash cards for the guns people turn in.”

Boston has a similar buyback program, where they offer cards “valued from $100 to $200″ for every gun turned in. The Boston Herald reports that they took in over “400” guns in varying conditions in 2014.

Taking in over “400” guns might sound like a victory for those who are against guns, but this year Boston has only taken in one gun, which presents the possibility that people are starting to see a need to keep them. On October 16, Hillary Clinton made comments suggesting that the buyback program implemented by Australia in the 1990s is “worth looking at”. What she failed to mention is that Australia’s mandatory “buyback program” was a shameless scheme to confiscate all weapons, effectively disarming Australian citizens. Every time Hillary opens her mouth, she proves how little she cares the for the people and how much she cares for her own agenda. While politicians sell these programs as an attempt to prevent gun violence, they’re real aim seems fairly clear . . . they want to disarm American citizens.
