Sheikh Khalid Hamad Al-Thani  has spent millions funding drag racing teams

The Beverly Hills police said that the city laws are applied to all equally, no matter “who you are, who you know or where you are from”, in response the Princes reckless driving through the streets, in the hot yellow Ferrari.  Al Thani told the officers that he was not driving in such a manner and claimed diplomatic immunity, which later was determined the sheikh did not have.

The sheikh and a friend went drag racing through these streets, and though the video has gone viral “police weren’t able to prove who was behind the wheel,” according to the Los Angeles Times.

After the video went online, police investigated but couldn’t find anyone willing to identify the drivers, said Lt. Lincoln Hoshino.

“No one produced any evidence of who was at the wheel of the two cars,” Hoshino said. “The drivers weren’t visible on the videos or photographs.”

The police have said that Al Thani has fled the country and  that the Ferrari and white Porsche seen in the video also are gone.

The Prince has expensive toys and pricey hobbies.

Al Thani has spent millions of dollars to support Al-Anabi Racing, a professional drag-racing team. Del Worsham, Al-Anabi’s Funny Car driver, said in 2009, “For Khalid this isn’t about selling more soda. It’s about making Qatar a major player in worldwide drag racing. To do that he realizes he’s got to first become a major player on the U.S. circuit.” Al Thani spent an estimated $10 million on the team in 2009.
