Vladimir Putin is no fan of the “Arab Spring”, evident by his address to the UN. Putin, who is allies with Assad, and Russia who has interests in Syria as a strategic location, has moved his military to the Syrian border. His speech pointed out his take on the Arab spring, and he believes the Obama “doctrine” in the Middle East has left a vacuum that ISIS is filling. Surprisingly, his take on the Arab Spring is much aligned with how many American conservatives view it.

Syria is like Iraq a leader was in power he may of been a little iron fisted but they kept the various tribes in their countries in check and from killing each other in violent conflicts. America gets involved in Iraq, Sadaam looses power the tribes see that as a opportunity to kill people from tribes they don’t like it became chaos America appoints the creation of a new government pulls out and then another series of conflicts arise with the newly formed government and ISIS the only thing is Assad is still in power but has lost civil order ISIS sees a opportunity to gain influence. The problem with not only the United States but the UN as well is to stay out of civil wars and let them run their course. 1950 the UN intervenes with Korea and they are still technically in a civil war to this day but at Armistice. Vietnam was more the same but started as a war of independence, Vietnam wanted freedom from France, France denied them it. Local people fight for it France gets the$#%&!@*kicked out of them, US intervenes creating North and South Vietnam, Soviet allies in the North and US allies in the south war breaks out instead of seeing it as a civil war and leaving it alone they got troops involved and many lives where lost as a result of it. Vietnam became one and kept good relations with both superpowers. Iraq the US and its allies created the civil war by removing the leader that was keeping hostile elements suppressed. But to sum it up Putin is right that the US is doing these things in the middle east without thinking of the impact it has in the political climate of the region.
