Vladimir Putin is no fan of the “Arab Spring”, evident by his address to the UN. Putin, who is allies with Assad, and Russia who has interests in Syria as a strategic location, has moved his military to the Syrian border. His speech pointed out his take on the Arab spring, and he believes the Obama “doctrine” in the Middle East has left a vacuum that ISIS is filling. Surprisingly, his take on the Arab Spring is much aligned with how many American conservatives view it.

Putin isn’t our enemy. He is brash and he isn’t afraid to make enemies, but he isn’t our enemy. The U.S. and much of the UN have treated Russia as a backwater nation for too long. Ofcourse, they will test the waters. However, I have never felt that Putin nor Russia is our enemy. Putin has a view on the worlf, like most, his are skewed one direct; also like most. In my opinion, Putin is right in this instance. Obama’s foreign policies are weak and laughable. ISIS, ISIL or whater you want to call them are not people who can be reasoned with. This are people who are driven by a religious ideology and suffer from brainwashing. You can’t politic your way to success with them. Assad may not be great, he may not be just or fair; the other option is an organization who is simply cruel, violent and completely uncaring about people who don’t 100% agree with their ideology. Radical muslims cannot, and should not be ignored, bartered with, or handled with kid gloves. The only solution is absolute destruction of their network. I’ll admit, we kicked the hornets nest and we created the vaccum. Now, we owe it to humanity’s sake to end it. We need to play ball with Russia, and end this on a truly united front between two former idealogical enemies.
