Donald Trump made stopping illegal immigration a centerpiece of his election campaign. He then went further to point out the danger of terrorists slipping across the border, especially those coming from countries where Islamic extremism prevails. Seeing this as a danger to the safety of Americans, he proposed not only his famous border wall, but also screening Muslims immigrants for terrorist ties. The left, seeing one of the primary recruitment tools for the Democratic Party going down the drain, went berserk.
Now as Mr. Trump starts assembling not only his White House staff, but also those nominations for cabinet positions he will send to the Senate, the focus is squarely on the immigration issue once again.
