I understand what he is saying about most religions that are based on Christ as the Lord and one and only true God! So if you are of the Christian faith regardless of your individual branch such as Episcopalian, Methodist, Catholic. Etc you believe in Jesus Christ. Then we have many other religions faith based with one God with their own prophets including Buddhists, etc. But, here is where I have trouble with his statement regarding “Allah” as the one true God just with a different name. Most believe God is good but then we are faced with a God asking his followers to murder in his name. Does not sit right with us! A just Hod does not allow$#%&!@* especially, stoning etc, right???
Now let us move on to who wrote the Quran. Not God! Muhammad and many other men through not a year or two but added on and changed through centuries. Might be things changed by men’s wants and desires not inspired by God! So now maybe I can accept the Allah may be just another name for the one true God but man has destroyed that image for us. So now we have a so called peaceful religion reflecting the 7th century on through the Middle Ages. Not peaceful times not a peaceful “religion”! Something though to suit those wanting to conquer in the name of God! The evil within man now resides in this organization. We look at the horrors of what their followers are doing now and reject it as a religion but a military essence to conquer and destroy whatever culture it can.
So I guess the pope is now trying to reconcile how a “peaceful religion” would fit into his image of a universal one true GOD!
My problem is the idea that Islam is a religion period! I feel it to be a military entity with no known geographic boundaries that forces itself upon nations and destroys them with their masking behind religious freedom with Sharia law!
