Philippines President Calls Obama “Son of a Whore”

While the Obama Administration blames Bush for a majority of their foreign problems, they certainly haven’t done anything to prove they’re different, which would explain why leaders like Duterte feel so hostile towards the United States. We are not the world police.

In his typical foul-mouthed style, Duterte responded: “I am a president of a sovereign state and we have long ceased to be a colony. I do not have any master except the Filipino people, nobody but nobody. You must be respectful. Do not just throw questions. Putang ina I will swear at you in that forum,” he said, using the Tagalog phrase for son of a b—-.

Duterte has earlier cursed the pope and U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.

The cancelled meeting was supposed to take place on the sidelines of the summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.

“Who is he to confront me?” Duterte said, adding that the Philippines had not received an apology for misdeeds committed during the U.S. colonization of the Philippines.

Obama responded to the remark:

“I have seen some of those colorful statements in the past. Clearly he’s a colorful guy. Obviously the Filipino people are some of our closest friends and allies, the Philippines is a treaty ally of ours, but I always want to make sure if I’m having a meeting that it’s actually productive and we’re getting something done.”

Last week Duterte explained that he was ready to defend his bloody crackdown on illegal drugs, something that has created concern from the United States and other countries. Why, though? It’s none of their business what happens in another country. Let them handle their own affairs. Maybe you can learn a thing or two. All Duterte wants his to explain why he’s doing what he’s doing before being accused by Obama. That’s fair enough.
