Pennsylvania Bill To Expand DNA Collection Of Citizens

Pennsylvania state senator Dominic Pileggi is urging lawmakers to pass a new bill that expands the power of government in a frightening way.

The new bill doesn’t come without controversy. The Pennsylvania chapter of the ACLU describes the bill as a statist attempt to grab more power, while supporters of the bill say that increased DNA collection is imperative to the safety of the state.

Many law enforcement groups are behind the bill, saying that increasing state collection of DNA beyond homicide or other serious crimes is important for the safety of Pennsylvania.

The problem with this bill is that it would allow innocent citizens who are never convicted of any crime to have their DNA sampled, recorded & stored in a government database.

This is happening in 28 other states and is a shocking intrusion into the lives of their citizens.
