American Politicians Suspiciously Absent from Panama Papers

In the weeks following the release of the Panama Papers to over 100 media outlets worldwide, many have noticed an interesting trend in those implicated.  Most of the people named in the 11.5 million documents leaked from the Panamanian firm, Mossack Fonseca are not closely aligned with the United States.  In fact, the majority of those named are adversaries or enemies of the U.S. and NATO.

This lack of American politicians and companies has led many to believe that the leak came from inside the United States to damage its adversaries.  Activist Post examines this more closely:

While there are many more individuals and countries listed in the leaks, the lists themselves are a curious representation of countries and world leaders whom the United States and the NATO powers view as targets and/or enemies. Putin, Assad, Mubarak, and Orban as well as their host countries of Hungary, Venezuela, Russia, Syria, Palestine, and China are all listed as violators of tax evasion, money laundering, and more but without sufficient evidence to prove most of the claims made against them.

The second point that must be made is the curious lack of high-profile American names as well as the lack of NATO leaders, leaders of major European countries, and Israelis. Being the most massive leak in journalistic history, to be sure, citizens of one of the largest economies on the face of the earth would turn up in an investigation of offshore accounts. Certainly, Western European oligarchs are as corrupt as any other nationality of oligarch. After all, Western European oligarchs often have a much higher tax rate (at least publicly) so it would stand to reason that they would be taking part in offshore accounting as much if not more than any other oligarch. Likewise, with the Israelis. Are we truly to believe that no Israelis are using offshore accounts?

Thus, it is curious indeed that such massive leaks seem directed at target nations and target individuals of the Anglo-American/NATO powers with little or no mention of nations or individuals belonging to the Anglo-American/NATO powers themselves.

For these reasons, the Panama Papers release has all the hallmarks of what might be considered a “limited hangout” operation. In other words, these leaks may very well be nothing more than an Anglo-American attack on geopolitical rivals and an exercise in a massive propaganda blitz against target nations and individuals.

Natural News details another theory that puts left-wing billionaire George Soros and other liberal groups under the microscope as being behind the leak of documents in the Panama Papers:

“[ICIJ], which describes itself as ‘a global network of more than 190 investigative journalists in more than 65 countries who collaborate on in-depth investigative stories’ lists as some of its recent financial funders,” including the Open Society Foundation, funded primarily by Soros, who is also backing Hillary Clinton for president.

“The Open Society Foundations back hundreds of pro open borders, mass immigration groups across the European Union, United Kingdom, and United States of America,” Breitbart noted.

Also listed as a recent donor to ICIJ is the Left-wing Ford Foundation, which “has funded everything from Sesame Street to the radical TV show Democracy Now.”

There are many other groups, like the Pew Charitable Trust, but they all fund left-wing political causes and issues, so it seems as though this may be an attempt to bleed political opponents financially.

Whether any of these theories turns out to be true only time will tell, but one must admit that it is extremely suspicious that no corrupt U.S. politicians (see Hillary Clinton) have yet been named.
