A 19-year-old Pakistani woman has been sentenced to death for reporting her cousin raped her at gunpoint.
She was asleep in her home in the South-western City of Rajanpur in the Punjab province when the assault occurred.
The young woman reported the crime to the local village court only to hear she was at fault for arousing the sexual desires of the rapist.

It is true that an old custom “Kara Kari”exists in some backward areas of our country. It is true that sometimes people get away with murder. It is also true that sometimes this is used as a threat to blackmail for money. But in this particular case, a local “Panchayat” (village elders,who have no authority in Pakistani law) ordered it. The actual news is that four members of this so called court have been arrested and a case has been registered against them. This is so very wrong, but that doesn’t justify a misleading headline. The headline says her stoning already happened, but the article writes that after she was sentenced to stoning or selling off, she was moved to another location. Hey “truthtoaction.org” follow your name and correct your headline.
