‘Oppressed’ Mizzou Hunger Striker Comes From a Family Worth $20 Million

Butlers Claim of White Privilege

Oppression seems quite exaggerated when considering the life that Butler lived.  In fact, most students or young people could only dream of the opportunities that the downtrodden Butler has had.  As the Omaha World Herald reported:

Jonathan Butler, a central figure in the protests at the University of Missouri, is an Omaha native and the son of a railroad vice president, the Omaha World-Herald reports.

He played high-school football at Omaha Central High, where he won a state championship, and earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Mizzou. He is working toward a master’s degree in educational leadership and policy.

He is a member of a prominent Omaha family. Butler’s father is Eric L. Butler, executive vice president for sales and marketing for the Union Pacific Railroad. His 2014 compensation was $8.4 million, according to regulatory filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

So Jonathan Butler, son of a wealthy and prominent family, seems to have had as many advantages and more than almost any student might dream of. He is able to attend graduate school and no doubt have the support of his wealthy family. It is widely known that African American students receive preferential admissions treatment to many universities, which may be the case here. And yet Butler feels oppressed and has driven Tom Wolfe from the university presidency not for what he did, but for what Butler perceives he did not do.

This is a case of tyrannical bullying, and it must stop. The race baiters must stop being given credence, and they need to be held accountable for their actions. If there is actual discrimination and mistreatment, let them prove it, but in the meantime, they should start acting like adults and recognize that the world is not always fair, there will be many slights they will face in life, just as we all do, and everyone is entitled to their own opinion and preferences.

All lives, not just black lives, matter, including the life of people like Tom Wolfe. He lost a good gig because the coddled, sensitive, and entitled Butler wanted his moment in the sun. And Butler will walk away unscathed and no doubt end up being highly satisfied by his outrageous actions and unsubstantiated charges.
