Operation Jade Helm: Massive Military Drill Across 9 States For “Unconventional Warfare”

Reactions To Jade Helm

UPDATE 5/11: Political Reaction:

Governor Greg Abbott, R-TX

Stating he was trying to alleviate the great many concerns Texans have over Jade Helm, Abbott stated he would have the National Guard ‘monitor’ operations.

“There was, frankly, an overreaction to the simple fact that someone has to be in charge with gathering and disseminating information,” said Abbott. “We stepped in to play that role, which is a role to be applauded.”

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX)

In an official statement Gohmert stated “Once I observed the map depicting ‘hostile,’ ‘permissive,’ and ‘uncertain’ states and locations, I was rather appalled that the hostile areas amazingly have a Republican majority, ‘cling to their guns and religion,’ and believe in the sanctity of the United States Constitution.”

“Such labeling by a government that is normally not allowed to use military force against its own citizens is an affront to the residents of that particular state considered as ‘hostile,’ as if the government is trying to provoke a fight with them,” he added later.

Ted Cruz (R-Texas)

Astutely citing the obvious fact that the Obama administration has continually violated the law and the liberties of its citizens, Cruz states that a natural consequence is that we don’t trust them or what they are stating.

“I have a great deal of faith and confidence in Governor Abbott,” Cruz told Bloomberg at the South Carolina Republican Party’s annual convention. “He is a long-time friend and mentor of mine. You know, I understand a lot of the concerns raised by a lot of citizens about Jade Helm. It’s a question I’m getting a lot. And I think part of the reason is we have seen, for six years, a federal government disrespecting the liberty of the citizens. That produces fear.”
“When you see a government that is attacking our free speech rights, or religious liberty rights, or Second Amendment rights,” Cruz continued, “that produces distrust.”

Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry

Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry responded to reporters questions by stating, “I think it’s okay to question your government — I do it on a pretty regular basis,” Perry told reporters . “The military’s something else.” “You know, I think our military is quite trustworthy,” Perry added. “Civilian leadership – you can always question that, but not the men and women in uniform.”

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV)

“Let me just say this. I want to make news right now,” Manchin said. “I don’t know what’s going on in Texas. I don’t know the paranoia that goes on in Texas, but the people in West Virginia welcome, welcome the special forces exercises. Please come to West Virginia. We’ll welcome you with open arms. We’re not afraid of you. We embrace you, we want you to be part of us.”

Senator Rand Paul (R-KY)

Oddly, Rand Paul stated recently that he didn’t know anything about this completely unprecedented military exercise that has got the country in a ‘firestorm’:

“Someone on a radio program asked me what it was. I didn’t know,” Mr. Paul stated. He expressed confusion as to why his comment about “that ridiculous Jade something” has been blown out of proportion.

“I said sure, I’ll ask my staff to look into it because I didn’t know what it was,” Paul said.

Former Texas Congressman Ron Paul

Ron Paul states that he isn’t quite ready to believe that we will see martial law as a result of Jade Helm. He believes that the federal government has already taken over and that this exercise might be preliminary to an expansion of the ‘American empire’. He doesn’t completely dismiss the theory that martial law is in the cards, however.

“I’m not quite there yet, I don’t believe that is, I believe it’s very important and I like what the governor is doing,” Paul said.

He theorized that perhaps the U.S. military sought to “enhance the empire” and the exercises were an attempt to prepare for taking over more countries. However, he also accused the CIA of conducting operations that no one knows about.

“I sense that the federal government has taken over,” Paul said. “The CIA is very powerful. We have these special forces all over the world and we don’t know who’s really in charge. Who’s the military, the CIA? They’re the ones who direct the drones. So they’re very much involved. And at home, the feds have taken over because they know everything about everybody and that’s through NASA. They spy on everybody.”

Paul mentioned NASA again before catching himself and talking about the NSA.

Paul said that martial law is a real possibility but added that he didn’t think the country was quite there yet.

“I think this is very good that the governor has done this,” Paul said. “I’m not at the point where I think this is the first step and six months from now you’re gonna have see martial law all around the country and I sure hope I’m right on that.”

UPDATE 5/11/15 Celebrities On Jade Helm

Chuck Norris

chuck norris

Chuck Norris has been rather involved in politics over the last decade and has come forth with his views on Jade Helm:

In an opt-ed for wnd.com, the ‘Texas Ranger’ and martial arts extraordinaire wrote:

“The US government says, ‘It’s just a training exercise’, but I’m not sure the term ‘just’ has any reference to reality when the government uses it. Whatever Jade Helm 15 actually is, I think it is more than coincidental that the FBI director just confessed in February that the presence of ISIS can be felt in all 50 states of the U.S. and that the Pentagon is suddenly running its biggest military training exercise with every branch of the military across seven Southwestern states.”

Norris continued:

I have an idea: If the government insists on running expanded military ops across seven Southwest states, why doesn’t it move all that “military training” south and protect our borders at the same time?!

Whatever Jade Helm 15 actually is, I think it is more than coincidental that the FBI director just confessed in February that the presence of ISIS can be felt in all 50 states of the U.S. and that the Pentagon is suddenly running its biggest military training exercise with every branch of the military across seven Southwestern states. Whether deterrence, display of power or something more covert or devious, let’s not come with any patronizing nonsense of impotence and simplicity when its origin is in Washington.

Jon Stewart and Bill Maher

On the other side of the fence we have Jon Stewart and Bill Maher. Stewart labels those concerned with Jade Helm 15 as  “Lone Star lunatics” “Dallas d*cks” and “Houston a*sholes.” Maher slammed Texans, stating “Stop worrying about getting sucked into the New World Order, you’re barely in the current world order.”

Here’s a look at the reactions from Texans on JH 15 they expressed at a Commissioners Courtroom in Texas. The public flat out rejected the official statements issued by one Colonel attempting to calm concerns regarding the event.
