The Democrats just never get tired of trying to promote gun control to gun owners and failing miserably. Of course, this is because many of them simply can’t relate to them, as was made painfully apparent this weekend.
Speaking at the NBC/Youtube Democratic debate on Sunday, former Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley defended his position on gun control by touting his relationship with gun owners. Attempting to defend his anti-Second Amendment record, O’Malley claimed that he’s, “never met a self-respecting deer hunter that needed an AR-15 to down a deer.”
Setting aside the unlikelihood of his claim that he regularly fraternizes with gun owners and deer hunters, O’Malley’s statement is stupefying. Yes, maybe deer hunters don’t need AR-15’s to shoot deer, but have you considered the possibility that maybe, just maybe, they need them to defend themselves?
To be fair, O’Malley, with his well-trained security escorts, probably doesn’t understand why anybody would need an AR-15 to protect themselves and their family. It should, however, keep him from opening his mouth on topics that he has little understanding of.

Well most of not all deer rifles fire bullets that are far more powerful than an Ar-15 round.
You did not represent Maryland in the best interest. As a Democrat, I did not vote for you. You are not what America needs right now.
The 2A isn’t a right given by the government anyway. It’s a individuals right and all the government is supposed to do is protect it. It’s ours to protect ourselves from you Mr government man. And so we shall. Molon Labe!
Worked fine for me. Doubles for deer and protecting my home.
a .223 is an excellent deer round and it doesn’t matter what kind of weapon it is in——you twit!!!!!
A .308 bullet fired from a so-called “assault rifle” designed for such, is neither more nor less likely to kill someone than if it were fired from a hunting rifle that’s not an “assault” rifle. And a blast from a shotgun at close range will do more damage than a rifle bullet, regardless of the style of appearance of the rifle. How many politicians on the left, understand this?
You shoot ’em your way, we’ll shoot our way. BTW, don’t worry what everybody else uses$#%&!@*
When I was in the Ashau in July 1969, we went out looking for a deer in a slick, took it down with the door gunners’ M60, gutted, skinned and roasted it on FSB Currahee. That night, they flew in the John Wayne movie “The Green Berets” and we watched it on 16mm eating roasted venison. We did not get mortared that night–I think the gooks outside the wire watched the movie along with us.
This paper weight most likely never met a hunter period. Doesn’t sound like he learned anything in Government or History Class either or would know what 2nd amendment ‘s about. Oh!! Forgot! They don’t have those in common core!
The ar is for hog hunting stupid
