Olbermann Claims He’s Quitting Political Commentary for Good

Queue the doves being released.  Okay, now make sure that the fake tears can be seen shimmering on the cheeks of his mom.  Good.

Keith Olbermann made a “stunning” announcement today.  Well, perhaps “stunning” is not the right word.  It was more like “expected.”

In his daily address to the 38 subscribers to his “The Resistance” GQ Magazine-funded online video weblog, Olbermann made sure that poke at the proverbial bear behind the bars as he continued to bash our president (not his) Donald Trump.  After all was said and done, however, the man who has called so many networks his home in the last 10 years that he has adopted more accents than even Hillary Clinton, Olbermann ended his broadcast on a sad note.  He will not be continuing his political rants or his book writing anymore, because he’s said everything he needs to say.  Or so he tells us.

GQ special correspondent Keith Olbermann announced Monday that he is “retiring from political commentary in all media venues” during his online program “The Resistance.”

The former ESPN, MSNBC, Current TV and Fox Sports host said he was “confident” President Trump’s presidency would end soon, thereby making it the “correct moment” to exit from making further political commentary.

“I am confident now even more so than I have been throughout the last year that this nightmare presidency of Donald John Trump will end prematurely and end soon, and I am thus also confident that this is the correct moment to end this series of commentaries,” Olbermann said, adding that Trump will either be removed from office or forced to resign by his own party sometime in the next 13 months.

The 58-year-old progressive provocateur insisted to his viewers that he wasn’t being fired and was in good health.

“No illness. No scandal. No firing. Just I’ve said what I’ve had to say,” Olbermann said. “It was as obvious as I made it seem. I give my work everything I can, so it’s not like I can dial it back.”

“I am retiring from political commentary in all media venues,” he concluded. “Thank you for all the kind words and all the support. Have fun storming the castle. My work here is done. Matter of fact, so is Trump’s.”

Olbermann said earlier this month that Trump and his family “have done more damage to America than [Osama] bin Laden and ISIS combined.”

I get the distinct feeling, though, that far from being finished, Olbermann is just starting.  I think we may be seeing a replay of the Stephen King cry for help many years ago.  Remember when the Leftist horror writer (who absolutely detests all things Conservative, Republican or Christian) announced that he would never write another book again.  He said that he was done and had written everything he had wanted to write and of course, there was a mad rush to capture his very LAST book.

That was, like, eight books ago, I think.

Like Stephen King’s seriously bad book sales stunt, Olbermann will be back.  Even though he says he was not fired, I suspect that GQ Magazine gave him a bit of bad news that went something like this:

“Uh, Keith…listen, man, this has been awesome.  I mean, you have really…uh…launched us into the stratosphere, ya know?  But, uh, we had this meeting, okay, and it seems that the upper management — and this is certainly no reflection on you, man!  You’ve been great!  But, they said that we need to limit you to one weblog a month and…well, we just wanted to let you know that we totally respect and believe in what you’re doing here!  I mean…f**k Trump, right!?  But, yeah.  So…[unusually long pause]…we’re going to be funding one rant a month and if those 38 subscribers need anything…discount subscription rates on GQ Magazine or something like that…they got it, man!  So, anyways…keep up the good work!  Yo, Resist, man!  [laughs nervously as he shows a fist in solidarity]

Well, that’s how it was in my mind, anyway.
