You can see the extent of the flood in the video below. City officials are claiming that it wasn’t caused by a problem on their end, but by Los Angeles citizens not cleaning debris from their yards. While debris might cause some blockage, if their supposed “readiness” for El Nino can’t handle some debris, then they’re definitely in for a wet winter.

Photographs of the mattress in question were promised to the news by city officials, who later back out on their word, making the existence of the mattress somewhat questionable. With the rainy season just up ahead and a reported “monster” El Nino ready to strike, let’s hope Los Angeles residents have their flotation devices ready.
