Obama’s Shadow Weasels Are Loose and It’s Time to Round Them Up

The Trump administration is being hammered lately, almost on a daily basis, with allegations and accusations stemming from the nearly constant leaking spigot that is affixed to the basement foundation of the U.S. intel community.  With all the advice being thrown around haphazardly about how Trump should do this or that to fix the problem, inevitably they all fall back on, “He needs to just fire them all.”

There are a few big problems with this advice.  As it turns out, the biggest problem happens to be that the rules for the unions that govern workers in the U.S. Government have been altered over the last few years (big surprise there) in order to make it more difficult for anyone (including the president) to just hand them their walking papers.

Several staffers close to the president have apparently been suggesting a very good alternative, one that would transfer these weasels to another department in the government that would (theoretically) preclude them from leaking more personal information regarding the president’s and his staff’s day-to-day activities.

George W. Bush promised a smooth and guilt-free transition to Barack Obama when he was elected and that, by and large, happened.  In fact, Bush reportedly (and admitted to by Obama himself) provided staffers to personally walk him through the process.  Let us not forget that Bush came from the old school respect-for-the-office mentality, where the presidency was a very intimate, special club.  Only a very miniscule portion of the population ever experiences this type of job.  Therefore, the mutual respect is afforded, regardless of pre-election emotions.

In Barack Obama’s case, that old school respect is not in his DNA.  While Bill Clinton was himself a Liberal, he knew when he was defeated and, more importantly, he knew when he had pushed the envelope a bit too far for the American public.  Very often, Clinton would pull back from the Progressive abyss and smile into the camera, stating, “I feel your pain,” and withdraw his shuffle to the Left.  Obama doesn’t have that filter within his brain.  If it even resembles something too Rightward or White for even the White-half of his brain to stomach, he hisses and rears back like Dracula reacting to the cross (I’m not even quite sure if showing him a cross wouldn’t elicit the same reaction).

The transition of Obama to Trump was fraught with animosity, unwillingness to share information, and even television appearances by the First Lady herself demeaning Trump’s election and equating it to American having no hope.  There was nothing “smooth” about it…but it was designed to be that way.

In the meantime, Obama had a LONG head-start in setting up a Leftist-slanted intelligence community and had no intentions of giving up his power when Inauguration Day came.  Like stocking fish in the lake, Obama had stocked the intelligence lake with so many red herrings that there would be absolutely no peace, no cooperation, and no headway against our enemies foreign and domestic, because they would be too wrapped up in creating a special type of Liberal chaos for Trump that only the Left knows how to do.  And with no help coming from the Establishmentariat (and possibly even collusion with the Obama holdovers by members of that body) there was absolutely no chance that Trump would be able to institute a single large-scale initiative.

A White House source estimates more than 60 percent of employees at the National Security Council are not Trump administration appointees, but career officials who were appointed to the White House from other agencies under the Obama administration.

The source said there are whole departments at the NSC with only one Trump appointee.

“I think the lesson here is that these things are going to continue to happen until the Trump White House does a serious housecleaning,” said Fred Fleitz, a former CIA and Bush administration official.

Now under civil service rules, it’s difficult to fire them and I’m not sure they should be fired, but they can be reassigned. And people who are going to promote the president’s policies rather than undermine them – he needs to put those people in place,” he added.

Then there’s the always compliant lapdogs in the media to add fuel to the fire.  Both the New York Times and the Washington decided to publish the weasels’ comments, presumably using the same weasels for both papers in order to maximize damage to the presidency.
Earlier this week, “current and former” officials leaked to the Washington Post that Trump had discussed “highly classified” information with Russian officials last week.
A day later, an “associate” of former FBI Director James Comey told the New York Times that Comey allegedly wrote a memo saying Trump asked him to end his investigation of former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.
Then a “current and a former official” – presumably the same ones who talked to the Post – revealed to the New York Times that Israel was the source of the information Trump spoke with Russian officials about.
Fleitz believes it is those career officials assigned to the NSC under Obama who leaked Trump’s conversation with Russian officials to former Obama officials and media outlets.
“I understand there was something called a memcon, a memo of conversation, that was written on it, and I suspect that that document may have reached people in these various agencies who had been put in place, promoted by the Obama administration, they’re Obama loyalists, and they’re just aching for information that they can use to undermine this president,” he said.

The National Security Commission has, on the other hand, positions that can be emptied out immediately because there is no confirmation process involved.  Some analysts are stating that the reason why the housecleaning has not occurred here yet is that there is no budget for the new people until September, when the new fiscal year begins.

This is an excuse I don’t buy.  Trump has worked in the past with less than a full staff.  He knows how to get things done on a leaner budget.  If in fact these weasels are embedded in the NSC, Trump could easily ferret them out and let them go.  No harm, no foul.  Fifty percent of the government being shaved down would only serve to help the taxpayers out in the realm of money.  We have a government that is far and above the means necessary to keep this nation running smoothly.  That excuse doesn’t hold water.

The hundreds of positions that remain unfilled may not be a political blunder by an inept administrator, but more likely a purposeful cutting down of government assets that already remain as a bloated tick on the rear end of the taxpaying public.  I have no doubt that the president is looking at a leaner government as a good thing, not through the eyes of an Establishment or Progressive hack that sees an empty position as a way to increase his budget.

In the end, it comes down to prosecution of these leaks.  They are illegal and they need to be punished.  One or two people taken down for their treasonous activities would send a powerful message to the rest of the weasel boogle being orchestrated by Obama and Soros.

Calls have also been growing for the Trump administration to identify and prosecute the source of the leaks, including from at least one Democrat.

“We need to ask questions about why is this intelligence community trying to upend the President of the United States with these leaks?” former House member Dennis Kucinich said on Fox News Tuesday.

Sen. James Risch (R-RI), a member of the Senate Intelligence committee, said the leaker should be brought to justice.

“The real story here is, there’s a weasel here.  And that is the person who reported about this conversation.  This is a person who is a traitor.  They betrayed their own country.  They betrayed their families and their neighbors.  And when you disclose classified information, classified conversations that you have access to, it is an act of treason,” he said on PBS Newshour Wednesday.

“He or she should be held to answer for that and treated as any treasonous person would be,” he said.

I have no doubt that there is a furious search for the sneaks who have been too cowardly to allow themselves to be identified and that they will be caught very soon.  In the meantime, the Department of Shadowy Endeavors will continue to sow its seeds of discontent in an effort to bring down the most powerful government in the world.
