Rafael, as a matter of fact, I started 1st grade 3 months before the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor & 2 days later, America finally declared war on the Axis – Germany & Italy. I remember blackouts & air raid wardens, gasoline & meat rationing & will never forget the films of Dachau & the other $#%&!@* extermination facilities – the Holocaust… Thankfully, I was safe here in America.
