Obama continued to legitimize Islamic terrorists with an opt-ed published in the LA Times, stating that ISIS jihadists have ‘legitimate grievances’.
“More broadly, groups like al Qaeda and ISIL exploit the anger that festers when people feel that injustice and corruption leave them with no chance of improving their lives,” Obama wrote. “The world has to offer today’s youth something better.”
“Efforts to counter violent extremism will only succeed if citizens can address legitimate grievances through the democratic process and express themselves through strong civil societies,” he added. “Those efforts must be matched by economic, educational and entrepreneurial development so people have hope for a life of dignity.”
So all the beheadings, kidnapping, rape and various atrocities carried out by Islamic extremists for the last 1400 years was due to ‘legitimate grievances’?

Scott – this is the textbook definition of conditions that foster the growth of terrorist organization as well as organized crime groups. Obama’s comments do not excuse terrorism in any way; they serve to explain the conditions that terrorist organizations use to recruit. Truth and Action (funny name for this group) take the remarks out of context to twist the meaning.
