President Obama stated Monday that he would support a 20% pay reduction for retiring military personnel as well as redefining benefits for those that leave before achieving 20 year of service. So it’s only a matter of time before these recommendations are realized.
Obama has been cutting natural born citizens out of the military while simultaneously hiring illegal immigrants. He has also been ending highly successful military programs and allowing different components the military to simply degrade, prompting the Washington Times to state that Obama has our decimated our military, leaving the US only ‘marginally able’ to defend itself.

The changes to military retirement would for the first time offer a retirement benefit to troops who serve less than 20 years. The Defense Department would offer to match troops’ own retirement savings up to 5 percent of basic pay. Troops would own that investment account regardless of when they leave the military.
The proposal would also give troops who reach 12 years of service a lump-sum retention bonus in exchange for a new four-year service commitment. The amount would likely vary by service and career field.
“Obama said he will provide Congress a list of proposals by the end of April that will be based on the recommendations of the Military Compensation and Retirement Modernization Commission, a panel created by lawmakers to find solutions to ballooning personnel expenses.”
Notice that Congress staffed the panel that gave Obama recommendations. Obama simply has followed their recommendations.
“The panel has advised the military to modernize its 20-year pensions by reducing payouts and adding a 401(k)-style option, and replace Tricare health coverage with a wide variety of private insurance plans. Those and a list of 15 changes to military compensation — including a consolidation of commissaries and exchanges — could save almost $5 billion next year and up to $10.4 billion per year by 2020, the panel claims.”

How about folks quit thinking of, and joining the military for a career? It obviously doesn’t rank as a worthy career to the “leader of the free world”! Better to flip burgers for more pay; less danger and no deployments. Get rid of the Senators and Congressmen too…..he didn’t do it by himself!

Where is his pay cut? His life is not possibly getting killed doing whatever it is he does. He should just stop sending money out of our country and stop paying for aliens here illegally.
