Obama: Parts of the Constitution are “Vestiges” of an Earlier Version of America

The legal process should be one of the most revered projects in which a nation engages.  At its best, it is a search for what is true and what is just.  Perverted, it becomes a tool of oppression.  Ignored, it leads to chaos.

Mr. Obama would have the judicial process work backwards.  In other words, what he would propose is that the desired outcome of a law be determined first, and then craft or interpret the law to generate the result he desires.  It takes the notion that there is any enduring truth and throws it to the wind.

Here’s an example of Mr. Obama’s perverted way of viewing the law.

President Barack Obama criticized the Electoral College, calling it an outdated “vision” from America’s Founding Fathers.

“The Electoral College is a vestige, it’s a carryover from an earlier vision of how our federal government was going to work that put a lot of premium on states,” President Obama said Friday during a press conference at the White House.

Obama, a former constitutional lawyer, listed the Electoral College as one of the “structures in our political system as envisioned by the Founders that sometimes are going to disadvantage Democrats.”

Note the “outcome based” focus.  The law does not favor Democrats or those who oppose the notion of states-rights, therefore it is to be disparaged.  Forget about what is right or true or just, just modify the law to get the result those in power happen to want.  If that’s not a dangerous notion to you, you need to seriously think this issue over.
