Obama: The Iranians Who Chant “Death To America” Are Just Like Republicans

On Wednesday, President Obama delivered a major policy speech on the nuclear accord with Iran. During the speech he pulled the oh-so-typical ploy of misdirecting attention off the grave concern that he’s handing nukes to a country that wishes that our entire nation ‘die’….by focusing attention on Republicans for their ‘misinterpretation’ of the “Death to America” mantra.

Mediaite has more on the president’s controversial remarks:

“I recognize the resorting to force may be tempting in the face of rhetoric and behavior that emanates from some parts of Iran,” the president said of such anti-American sentiments. “It is offensive. It is incendiary. We do take it seriously. But superpowers should not act impulsively in response to taunts. Or even provocations that can be addressed short of war.

“Just because Iranian hardliners chant ‘Death to America’ does not mean that’s what all Iranians believe,” Obama continued. “In fact, it’s those those hardliners who are most comfortable with the status quo. It’s those hardliners chanting ‘Death to America’ who have been most opposed to the deal. They are making a common cause with the Republican caucus.”

Moreover, this isn’t the first time Obama has targeted the GOP in relation to Iran.

When 47 Senate Republicans sent a letter to Iran about how the next president could undo any agreement with the despotic nation, the president wrote back and accused them of ‘undermining relations’ in the Middle East.

In addition, the majority of Americans reportedly do not support the nuclear deal with Iran, which makes the president’s political jab a lot more than just a snub at Congress.
