Politics is a natural venue for those with enormous egos. Where else can you get thousands or even millions of people to put your name on signs and wave them around, or attach it to bumper stickers? And the money that pours in from supporters has to be a major ego rush as well. So, there’s no surprise when the Clintons and Mr. Obama wind up in politics. After all, where else would they be able to amass such fame, power, and money?
Mr. Obama has taken his ego trip to another level. He wants a million little Barack Obamas running around the nation, prepared to carry on his legacy of left-wing policies into the future.
Former President Barack Obama talked about his future plans for his post-presidency life at a conference Sunday in Japan, addressing how he might shape “a million” new, young leaders in his mold.
The wide-ranging discussion repeatedly touched on the Obama Foundation’s efforts to engage the digital space to help young people in the U.S. and across the world get connected.
“If I could do that effectively, then — you know — I would create a hundred or a thousand or a million young Barack Obamas or Michelle Obamas,” Obama said. “Or, the next group of people who could take that baton in that relay race that is human progress.”
Some “progress.” It is difficult to see anything positive that came out of the Obama administration. Hence, if he were to succeed in this project, he would simply be subjecting millions of children to mediocrity — lives that really accomplish nothing of lasting value at all. Yet the left gets all teary-eyed at the thought.
He also knocked “old men” in power.
“A lot of our problems are caused by old men. No offense, men, who are old,” he quipped.
Stop right there. That is the epitome of disingenuousness. Or just call it gross hypocrisy. Or better yet, he’s a liar.
What about “old women” in power such as Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi? Do they get a pass in Obama’s utopia? What about some old geezers holding office as Democrats? Should they get the boot or do they get a pass as well?
Why not be a man about it, Barack, and name names? You hate President Trump, he’s 71, he kicked the daylights out of your appointed successor. That’s primarily to whom you are referring, but you are too much of a coward to utter the words.
Mr. Obama offered nothing positive for this country during his eight years of misgovernment, or non-government. Creating a million young “Obamas” will just doom them to pointless lives — all to feed the ego of their namesake.
