Obama Gets a Double Black Eye: IRS and Hillary

The Examiner notes that U.S. District Judge Emmett Sullivan ripped into the IRS for its failure to produce key documents concerning the Lerner attempt to minimize the opposition to Barack Obama. The IRS allegedly possesses official papers investigators need. The agency also engaged in obstruction by refusing to release all of these documents, backed by current IRS Commissioner John Koskinen.

The failure of the IRS to cooperate with Congressional investigators and carry out his orders caused the judge to issue a note to the IRS asserting that Commissioner Koskinen will be held in contempt if he fails to cooperate.

On the Hillary side a clearly irritated U.S. District Court Judge Richard Leon stated during a hearing that he was angered as the State Dept. dragged its feet in responding to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests. The judge’s statement points out numerous FOIA requests from Judicial Watch (JW) to gain access to vital information Hillary Clinton kept on her personal, private server while Secretary of State have not been met. The entire Examiner piece is here.

Thus, given that neither the IRS nor the State Dept. have been compliant with Congress in its investigation into these crucial issues, the federal court system is now involved — not an enviable position in which to find one’s self.
