First we need to change the culture of our country. Instead of water cooler talk being of sports and celebrities we should be talking about the bills being introduced and passed that will impact us and the future of our children. The bowl game and celebrity tweet will not matter in 2 weeks, while a bill can still matter in 20+ years. We need to know what our representatives are doing in order to hold them responsible. If people knew the way some of our presidents voted when they were representatives, they would have never made it to president. We can play the blame game all day or we can take action. We need to put politics back on the table. All this, it’s impolite to discuss politics is bull. Thats what the government wants. All of us in the dark not talking issues out together with our friends and family trying to find middle ground then finding people who can represent us as a whole. They talk about issues like gay marriage and abortion so we spilt up and say red or blue all while the politicians gather to pass the bills that steal our rights, rip away our privacy, kill our constitution, take our tax dollars for weapons that even most military doesnt want just so their big campaign contributors are happy with a new government contract, they give oil companies out our land to frack contaminating our water, polluting our air. Money shouldn’t equal governmental influence, our voices as a people should be the only, I repeat, the ONLY thing to influence government. We do care about issues like abortion and gay marriage but when the system collapses due to corruption we will all wish we talked about the real issues that politicians talk about behind closed doors. Lets kick open those doors and say, “Hey it doesnt matter what you think, it matters what WE think!” And I think we all want to be heard. Why do I need to be represented, this isnt the 1800s, I dont need someone speaking for me, my voice can be heard across the country, across the world.
I want the right to vote on bills. No more House of Representatives. That will be the next step of evolving our government. Online government forum of voting, if banks can do online banking safely we can do online voting safely. Take that X amount of billions from our budget on a non working fighter jet and create a website secure for us to have the power. They want to pass a bill, they should need to get thru us first, the people. No more shady deals, no more last second bills. We need to be our first line of defense. Lets defend this country from all threats foreign AND DOMESTIC!
