He is operating within the constraints of his office. It is the Chief Executive’s responsibility to administer the law. That’s why it’s called an “administration”. The executive who is administering the law decides how the legislation is administered. He does this, on occasion, by executing an order. This is called an Executive Order. There will be no legal action in this case as it will lose. He is correct. Terribly frustrating, I know.
Interesting that those claiming that he is acting outside his Constitutional authority had no problem when republican presidents like Nixon, Reagan, Bush I and Bush II signed significantly more executive orders and literally violated the law. Importing Cocaine.

There was not a peep from the right when the Patriot Act was passed even when those with a functional understanding of government and the constitution cautioned against it as it is so easy to abuse and powers given must then be taken away. How’s that going?
NOW, the right is up in arms about “tyranny” and an “imperial president”. And only after installing and supporting the most imperial presidents in modern history, Reagan and Bush II.
And, no doubt, showing their usual affection for hypocrisy, will continue to support whatever action is taken by a Chief Executive as long as he is a Republican.
Because, they’re right, right? And when you’re right the law is irrelevant, isn’t it? You have to do whatever you can to get what you want.
Dang, promoting bigotry, voter suppression, and forcing unnecessary medical procedures on American citizens against their will seem kind of pale in comparison to that. And all of these are acceptable to the Republican Party under the US Constitution but when a republican is in the WH, but an executive order from a Democrat is Imperial.
