Liberals are looking to expand eligibility for government subsidies by making life easier for convicted criminals. President Obama is expected to sign an executive order this week that would put that plan into action. And the benefits don’t stop at making criminals eligible for government programs, they also extend to preventing employers from asking about prior criminal history and would allow criminals access to public housing. With the backing of Hillary Clinton (D-NY), Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Martin O’Malley, the “ban the box” program is set to remove limitations (or consequences) for anybody who has committed a crime. As always, President Obama had something to say.
