Barack Obama is once again circumventing the legislative process in order to push his administration’s unpopular leftist agenda. First, it was illegal immigration, then transgender bathrooms. This time, it’s guns.
Earlier this year, the White House announced new policies for those receiving social security benefits in conjunction with the president’s January 5th executive order on gun ownership. When it was released, few seemed to notice that the order allowed the administration to withhold Second Amendment rights from those who collect social security.
The move makes little logical sense. Social Security beneficiaries have never proven themselves as particularly violent or incapable of gun ownership. Instead, it seems as if this is part of Obama’s larger plan to slowly and surreptitiously restrict gun ownership whenever and wherever possible.
The administration was likely hoping that this slow creep of new regulations would go unnoticed until it was too late to be repealed. Fortunately, the watchful eyes of conservative media caught them in the act.

So the only way to loos the right is in court. Agian it’s a large misinterpretation of law. No matter what a bill said a medical doctor can only ask you not have a weapon. Without court decision of incompetence you are still allowed to have them. Do some research into this case you will find that more happened than we know or they want ypu to know. Also look into due process and right given.
It’s already a law and they can take guns from incompetent people the same as taking them from criminals

I have other income, but there are so many elderly just on S.Sec. and they are not making it!! I see prices and such going up; and it does not make for a good quality of life…when they should be enjoying these last years. Besides, they worked for it. You helped me out here from getting picked on…thanks, Bob!!

Lawrence first thank you for the well thought out reply they are rare. Secondly yes I do agree with the facts you have stated there does come a point that if you can’t had your own affairs due to diminished mental head which sadly happens to some people due to many different reasons you should not have a firearm. My issue comes more to the realm of who makes the call and how. I know an 86 year old man who is sharper than a lot of people that are 50 years younger. I fear that this order will lead to multiple issues to start with simply saying once an individual hits a certain age they are no longer able to own a firearm secondly if not set to a certain age because that is just not a good way to gauge things how do you determine whether or not someone is handling their Affairs in a responsible manner some of my friends who are quite mentally well-rounded see things differently than I do and handle their affairs in manners I do not agree with and find on sound my case and point I have a friend who lives by this motto you only live once AKA YOLO and makes rash decisions without consideration two effects of having aspects of their life do I feel that they are qualified to own a firearm I’m not fit to make that call so while I agree with what you are saying and yes if a lot of thought is put into it by people who are honest at heart and are looking at this objectively and are I’m much smarter than I am and have resources to really delve into the issue it would be a great law and would save lives but with the status of our country currently and everyone wanting to apply quick fixes two issues that cannot be fixed quickly the law that will come from this will not he just this is just my opinion and concern I look forward to your reply again thank you for your well thought out comment
