Barack Obama is once again circumventing the legislative process in order to push his administration’s unpopular leftist agenda. First, it was illegal immigration, then transgender bathrooms. This time, it’s guns.
Earlier this year, the White House announced new policies for those receiving social security benefits in conjunction with the president’s January 5th executive order on gun ownership. When it was released, few seemed to notice that the order allowed the administration to withhold Second Amendment rights from those who collect social security.
The move makes little logical sense. Social Security beneficiaries have never proven themselves as particularly violent or incapable of gun ownership. Instead, it seems as if this is part of Obama’s larger plan to slowly and surreptitiously restrict gun ownership whenever and wherever possible.
The administration was likely hoping that this slow creep of new regulations would go unnoticed until it was too late to be repealed. Fortunately, the watchful eyes of conservative media caught them in the act.

Something doesn’t sound right. You can’t test for drugs prior to collecting a check but the commander in stupid can take ssi checks for people who own guns? Something is amiss. Either it is a bad report or we just got effed in the a with no reach around.
Of all the people that do not run around causing harm with a gun because they are seniors. As much as if they choose to have the rights to protect themselves shiuld be there rights. This president is not well. Take away the rights of welfare and government assistance recipients if he should do this.

While I am not a fan of Obama, did anyone commenting read the story? In it the order passed clearly sates that people receiving SSI benefits who are getting it because of mental illness, may have their right to own a gun prohibited. So, people on SSI disability with a diagnosed mental illness run the risk of loosing their gun rights. Sure, no one should be forced to give up their second amendment right, but this order is not going after those on social security retirement. Rater those who never paid into Social Security and get benefits. Also, this is not new. It has been proposed before,
Completely false and made up. Not only did this never happen but it was talked about 4 years ago. He was confronted by Ted Cruz and the supreme Court. All told him it was unconstitutional and not within his power as outlined in the social security act that only the Congress levy any implications on the law. Do not stoop to the liberal left media’s level and tell out right lies.
