The Obama administration is easing travel restrictions on Europeans who have visited terror hotspots in the Middle East and Africa. Immediately after the announcement, two key Republican leaders, House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Michael McCaul, R-Texas, and Rep. Candice Miller, R-Mich. declared Obama is “blatantly breaking the law.”
The easing of such travel restrictions places Americans at further risk of being victimized in terrorist attacks.
Lawmakers have been trying to tighten restrictions in order to prevent Europeans who have trained at ISIS or other terrorist camps from being able to enter America through Europe. The Obama administration implemented those restrictions with their own caveat, which allows Europeans who have traveled to the countries in question in the past five years to travel without obtaining a new visa.
The fact is that the President simply is not allowed to add changes to the bill.
