The lower pay increase translates to a Pay Grade E-4 (Corporal, Petty Officer 3d Class, Specialist 4, Senior Airman) with less than three years in service will earn less than $3.00 an hour. Under the 2016 pay scale, a Pay Grade E-1 undergoing recruit training will be paid roughly $2.15 an hour.

So they will get a 1.3 percent pay raise instead of 2.2. The most I ever got from Dubya was 1 percent. I lived comfortably in the service and had a blast. Service members also receive extra pay for family members, family separation, hazard, housing assistance, Tri-care, and finally, an all expenses paid 4 year education. I benefited handsomly from all of those perks. They knew the pay scale when they VOLUNTEERED, just like me.
