One of the jokes told about Obama’s town of Chicago is that its slogan at election time is “Vote early and vote often.” While he’d never admit it, it looks like he adapted that slogan to describe the way his administration has dealt with other nations when there might be a conflict: “Cave early and cave often.”
While best exemplified in his dealings with Iran, it now appears to be the guiding principle as he deals with China. And the U.S. Navy and American influence abroad have been the butt of his joke, if you can stand to call it that.
