Obama on Building Wall and Why Illegal Immigration is Republican’s Fault

“You’ve got to recognize that America’s greatness does not come from building walls,” stated Obama to the Congressional Hispanic Caucus.

He is right in that America is great because it is a nation of laws and not walls, but when the Feds don’t enforce the laws, walls must be built to stop the flow of illegal immigrants.

Always looking for a way to pull some type of race card, he went on to compare Irish and Italian immigration to the illegal immigration on our southern borders, and with all due respect Mr. President, their is no comparison.

Obama said that while “anti-immigrant sentiment” was not new to politics in America, it was wrong, citing the Irish and Italians that once suffered stereotypes similar to Hispanics today. He also dismissed the suggestion that somehow immigrants in the past were all legal, and used a straw man argument to suggest that opponents of amnesty were racist.

Geography plays an enormous roll in the flood of Hispanics versus that of the Irish and Italians.  It’s a lot easier to slip under a chain link fence, then cross an ocean.

And for his final flub, he said,

“Think how much better our economy would be if the rest of his party got the message,” he said. “Think about how much better off our country would be if Republican politicians hadn’t spent years precisely trying to scare voters with tales of immigrants flooding across our borders and taking our jobs, and destroying America as we know it.”

Yeah, that is the trouble with illegal immigration.
