Obama Blames ‘Geography’ for Democrats’ Terrible Election

Barack Obama is abroad this week, but he can’t seem to get his party’s losses out of his head. During a speech in Lima, Peru, Obama seemed to blame the drubbing stunning defeat on geography. When discussing the results, he said:

Some of that is the nature of our system and geography. As long as Wyoming gets the same number of senators as California there’s going to be some tilt toward Republicans when it comes to representative races. The fact that a lot of Democrat voters are bunched up in cities and a lot of Republican voters are spread out.

He makes the comments at 3:13 in the video below.

Barack Obama is right, Republican voters are more spread out. But he forgot to mention that Democrats lost nearly everywhere, regardless of geography. In order for your party to win, they actually need to get votes, something the Democrats failed to do in the vast majority of the nation’s counties.
