More than 70 cities have received Syrian Muslim refugees since January 2015. The State Dept. is preparing to accept as many as 11,000 more from the United Nations, which is responsible for screening out criminals and terrorists.
Some congressmen, such as Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX), are attempting to block this importation on the basis that they represent a national security risk because of the ties many Syrians have with ISIS al-Nusra Front.
