Did you know that there is a “1971 Wild Free-Roaming Horses and Burros Act?” Probably not, but then when one considers the volume of legislation created just at the federal level — legislation that remains in force, the normal reaction would be one of astonishment, of being utterly overwhelmed, of one’s eyes just glazing over. No wonder congressmen and senators have no idea what they’re voting on much of the time.
Anyway, apparently we have a crisis of excess horses and burrows running wild in western states. Enter the Bureau of Land Management and a dispute they have with the Humane Society of the United States.
Here’s the crisis in a nutshell for your consideration.
Reduce meat consumption and stop the unnatural grazing of cattle!

So, the cows are supposed to be here? Besides, the government has millions of acres of land, some of which once supported wild horses. Read a book, people.
I’m sick of the “non-native” reason for devaluing life. Unless you are Native American YOU are “non-native” as well. The gray squirrel and Stellar’s Jay bird are also “non-native” here in the Pacific Northwest, yet they are still life, still beautiful and to me just as important as the “native” animals. This is actually ANIMAL RACISIM. #alllivesmatter

Used to be able to sell horses for meat and animal products. Can’t do that anymore and that is why there are also a lot of tame horses that can’t be delt with either.
You should read more of the comments before you speak. The reason “native” was brought up was for the predator factor not that because that has anything to do with life value. Look at the facts instead of jumping to conclusion. And FYI the Stellar Jay and squirrel both have predators that keep them under control. As for animal racism WTF is that. Horses are not a race they are a species.
