Number Of Police Officers Killed In Line of Duty Doubles as Morale Shrinks

The number of police officers killed in the line of duty in 2014 doubled the previous year’s rate a new report shows. Of course, morale among law enforcement has dropped to an all-time low.

A once noble profession now has cops telling their families not to go into their line of work, also a first: “One of the things that we’ve seen just lately, that we’ve never seen before, is police officers are telling their own families, and their own children, ‘Don’t go into this line of duty, this line of work, because it’s not worth it any more,’” states Bill Johnson, the executive director of the National Association of Police Organizations.
