What would happen under the circumstances of a cyberattack targeted towards America? Would people go Mad Max crazy? In Ted Koppel’s book “Lights Out” he explains that if the power grid were to go down due to cyberattack, it would go down for not only days, but for weeks or even months resulting in millions of people dying due to mass starvation.
Recently, National Security Agency (NSA) Director Admiral Michael Rogers warned listeners at a cyber-security conference that the threat isn’t a matter of “if“ it will happen, but “when.“
He used the example in which hackers in Ukraine used the Black Energy cyber-weapon to knock out the lights on more than 200,000 people across the region.
While speaking at the RSA Conference in San Francisco, he warned the audience that this will not be the “last we are going to see of this.“

As a high voltage electrician journeymen and a retired Aviation Ordnance Chief Petty Officer Aircrewman USN. It is always a good thing to listen to someone who is educated in both how an electrical grid works and how to destroy one. There are many ways to shut down the electrical grid. This is just one. Having flown missions over Iraq in the gulf war and many other conflicts. I will tell you that taking out the power grid is very easy. An EA-6b electronic countermeasures aircraft used both high energy jamming and low altitude chaff systems to knock out the power in areas where we needed to shut down the air defense systems. It was decided at the time to not completely shut down Iraq’s power grid completely at the time due to humanitarian reasons. A high altitude nuclear detonation with a large electrical magnetic pulse will blow the transformers used to power our grid. We do not have enough back up large transformers to even replace them if this happens. As far as a internet hack of our systems goes, I am not an expert. But I believe we need to start planning for this type of attack. We are not ready.
Janet Schmidt I know hard work, my family farm, and dose irrigation and general construction, we actually no how to drill for a water. That is why I own land in Montana and in Texas. If you list just a garden 2 years in a row then well then you would be SOL. I do not need farm land and store’s to feed me.
Because they intentionally don’t want to. Imagine the support they would get to bolster War if the power grid got hit. They would blame it on the Russians or whoever else they want to attack for different reasons and that would be their scapegoat. The mainstream media propaganda machine with spread it all over the place and most Americans would eat it up because they’re too damn ignorant to know any better.
When not if it happens you will see the true definition of BATSHIT CRAZY….
the melt down is coming best be prepared

Mike you are a beta cuck
Time to start getting Amish friends? They can live without power
I’m kinda thinking that the NSA has too much power and is afraid that President Trump is going to start cutting back on the NSA CIA and FBI agencies for the abuse of power so they’re coming up ways to divert and hold the power that oshithead gave them
Wouldn’t it be nice if our Congress was spending it’s time working on matters of critical importance to our safety instead of wasting untold amounts of time and money on their phoney Russian witch hunt? I’m 75 years old and through all the changes and challenges I’ve seen this country undergo, I’ve never seen anything like the complete disregard for the people’s work like the rabid obstructionism and embarrassing ineptness that prevails in both parties. Throw Obama’s legacy of divisive politics and the corrupted dishonest press into the equation and we’re building the perfect storm that will not end well for America.
It won’t take a cyber attack to fry it
