What would happen under the circumstances of a cyberattack targeted towards America? Would people go Mad Max crazy? In Ted Koppel’s book “Lights Out” he explains that if the power grid were to go down due to cyberattack, it would go down for not only days, but for weeks or even months resulting in millions of people dying due to mass starvation.
Recently, National Security Agency (NSA) Director Admiral Michael Rogers warned listeners at a cyber-security conference that the threat isn’t a matter of “if“ it will happen, but “when.“
He used the example in which hackers in Ukraine used the Black Energy cyber-weapon to knock out the lights on more than 200,000 people across the region.
While speaking at the RSA Conference in San Francisco, he warned the audience that this will not be the “last we are going to see of this.“
Read more on page two to find out what NSA Director Rogers thinks is the best plan in order to stop any cyberattacks from occurring in the U.S.
Fuel, ammunition, stored food, stored clothing, stored medicine, et al……… = Prepared.
Another problem that Obozo knew about but did nothing ! Oh wait he played golf and smoked dope.
Solar with battery backup and generator.
Why would it be impossible to get food. Far as I know every major super market I know has back up generators for even short outages. Same with the natural gas pipelines that feed them. It’s a huge loss if the power goes out for an hour. They don’t risk it. You won’t have air conditioning at home. No tv to watch. But you would be amazed how much of the production chain can self sustain. Same with gas stations, banks, hospitals, fire and police stations. Everybody complains about the natural gas we get. It is our plan b.
Well im as off grid as u can b…live in my camper and totaly soalrised….but in an event of nature,or nukes, even that isnt fullproof
Did ur momma have any kids that lived?
Back up generations fueled by? That will run out too. Plus no way to treat water, most use electricity to convert salt into chlorine.
Dennis Wagner , yep exactly. when grandma had an oxygen concentrator (electric), the power company had our house on a priority list. In event of storms, we generally got power back well before other blocks (and this was in dense urban city). Backup generators would be found places like data centers, oil pipeline pumping stations, telephone companies and things of that sort….there were no backup generators unless you owned one.
It will all grind to a halt Andrew. The pumps that pressurize the natural gas pipelines run off the electrical grid. The refineries that produce gas run off of electricity and natural gas. Gas stations don’t have generators, at least none I know of. But even if they did, how long before their tanks run dry with no deliveries? Grocery stores get shipments every day. Our entire system operates on what is called a “just in time” supply chain from the farms to the factories to the stores.
Try months or years, not just a couple days or weeks.
