New York Times Tipped Off Scalise Shooter to Location, Police Presence in Advance

On April 12, 2017, the Times published an article on the various agencies that guard high-level government officials. It focused on possible costs to the taxpayers, a subject that was never of concern to the paper during the Barack Obama administration.

A Who’s Who List of Agencies Guarding the Powerful” by Nicholas Fandos provided enough detail for would-be assassins and terrorists to keep busy for months.

Of particular relevance to the Alexandria shooting is this sentence:

When member of Congress practice in the early mornings in an Alexandria, Va., public park for their Congressional Baseball Game, plainclothes United States Capitol Police are sitting there in a black S.U.V.”

Having prior knowledge of the police presence and where they were likely to be no doubt helped Hodgkinson avoid entering the area where they were parked and be able to set up behind the third base dugout to begin shooting.

A Bernie supporter and fanatic on the alleged Trump-Russia collusion, Hodgkinson moved to the Alexandria area in April and began scoping out his assault.

Unable to question him further because of his fatal wounds from the shootout with police, FBI and Alexandria police investigators will have a difficult time sorting out Hodgkinson’s movements in the days and weeks prior to the shooting. Another concern will be to determine if he had any assistance or encouragement in carrying out the attack.

One thing’s certain: The New York Times gave him a helpful blueprint for the best place and time to attack Republicans, and how to work around the police presence.

It’s all in keeping with the mainstream media’s scorn for national security and intense dislike for the current president and his administration.
