Incredible as it seems, living in the post 9/11 times period where everyday a new news story tells of the dangerous world in which we live, American borders are left wide open due to broken equipment and security systems that are no long sufficient.
Many of the posts along the U.S.-Mexican border have been inspected and what has been found is unacceptable for the leader of the free world. We have the resources and tech, yet we leave our officers and the American citizen vulnerable to serious breaches that effect lives and security.
But when IG investigators visited one undisclosed site, the gate was open and, they found, the gate is “repeatedly left open.” Regional agency officials asked the CBP’s Facilities Management and Engineering division to fix the security cameras in January 2013.
The request was repeated in August 2014 because the cameras were still broken. The facilities office marked the work order closed in August 2014, but the problem still wasn’t fixed when IG investigators visited in April 2015.
Obama has failed the protect America time and again. This particular failure is an “easy fix” comparatively speaking, but he is too busy fixing his golf game to be bothered by such things.
Perhaps though, this is just more of his plan to transform America?
