Skyscrapers these days are built with demo charges installed. It’s just done to avoid a tremendous cost to do it at some time in the future. So the explosives were there already. Maybe the planes crashing in set them off.

Jim, my father was a construction worker and worked on all those buildings when they were being built. He said the beams had spray on fireproofing and it was$#%&!@* He said if you barely brushed it, it would fall right off. He thinks the fireproofing blew off from the explosions and the beams melted from the heat. He said the weight of the upper floors would cause the building to pancake straight down.
