Let’s get rid of all things Dixie. Dixie Chicks: check, their politics are skewed. Dixie Paper Products: No. The children’s book, Because of Winn-Dixie: No way. The grocery store chain, Winn Dixie: I don’t think so. Dixie Gun Works, Dixie National Forest, Dixie Stampede Dinner Attraction… (Dolly Parton would not stand for it), and now, last but certainly not least, The Dixie Classic Fair, because, you know, people get their feelings hurt hearing that term “Dixie”.
Family fun does not occur at this fair, just hate. That is what the progressives who want to change the name imply. Forget about the 133 years of traditional carnival fun, there needs to be a change.
