Jay Familglietti, NASA’s top water scientist, recently warned that California has only a year’s supply of water left in storage facilities and the backup groundwater is rapidly depleting. Despite this harrowing fact, California has no backup plan to address this crisis.
“California has no contingency plan for a persistent drought like this one (let alone a 20-plus-year mega-drought), except, apparently, staying in emergency mode and praying for rain,” stated Familglietti. “In short, we have no paddle to navigate this crisis.”
UPDATE: California Gov. Jerry Brown issues ineffectual, mandatory water restriction as one-third of our nation’s crops are threatened. See Page 3 for updates.

The state will dry up and blow away by the time they build a high speed rail system.
WOW….Fracking is bad and it’s real.bad in California….they’re doing it on the San Andreas fault line….In the future California is going to pay big time,BUT for right now it’s the water….It takes millions on top of millions of gallons of water every year to extract oil from shale rock that the oil companies are digging for,NOT including them tearing the earth up under OUR feet to get it.Another thing you might NOT know….After THEY mix the chemicals with the water,THEY can’t clean the water…it’s RUINED!….REPEAT RUINED!…..lol Don’t take it personal…truth is the truth
When there is an idiot in charge,,, things like this happen!! I am glad that I left there 15 years ago!!
Ric, Kalifornia is bankrupt, they’re looking to Obama to pay their bills. They’re not paying for anything.
Look at the wind mill farms, quite sure they influenced the wind and weather patterns.
Lay off the crack pipe. This has nothing to do with “chemtrails” or “HAARP” or “Climate Change” .. this is a natural occurrence. Please, study some history and science.
Were you born stupid or did it take some work?
I heard that Australia invested heavily into desalinization plants. Two problems. #1. It requires a lot of energy to run, I guess. #2. After the draught ended, they were still stuck with a lot of debt. AND California won’t even refund state income taxes that were overpaid. So how can they invest in these plants?
Blow me cause you’re the dummy
Cal hasn’t grown anything for awhile now.
