Jay Familglietti, NASA’s top water scientist, recently warned that California has only a year’s supply of water left in storage facilities and the backup groundwater is rapidly depleting. Despite this harrowing fact, California has no backup plan to address this crisis.
“California has no contingency plan for a persistent drought like this one (let alone a 20-plus-year mega-drought), except, apparently, staying in emergency mode and praying for rain,” stated Familglietti. “In short, we have no paddle to navigate this crisis.”
UPDATE: California Gov. Jerry Brown issues ineffectual, mandatory water restriction as one-third of our nation’s crops are threatened. See Page 3 for updates.

Here’s an idea. Stop draining the lakes every fall in anticipation for the rain that’s not going to come.
Build a giant saw and let it fall into the ocean. If only that were possible. Then move the saw to the east coast, starting at the southern point of Maine and go to the Outer Banks of NC. let it all fall in the ocean.
May be they shouldn’t use all that water to flush the salmon fingerlings to the sea every spring
Truth hurts
Guess they shouldn’t drain their reservoirs to save a polliwog.
Nestle? Or the dams and reservoirs built prior?
Rain is one thing. . But where do the streams and rivers come from…
That’s what they get for developing such civilization in a desert. Try the ocean. Its just a little salty… Sodium never hurt anybody.
Cali is going out of business soon anyways. Move east people and do it quick!!!
Great…! Hey, Gov. Moonbeam…, how about lets p**s away a billion bucks on a useless train to nowhere, that nobody wants (less the unions) instead of say……………… spending the $$$$$$ on a common sense and very needed desalination plant that would benefit millions of Califorians? We are doomed!!!!
