Jay Familglietti, NASA’s top water scientist, recently warned that California has only a year’s supply of water left in storage facilities and the backup groundwater is rapidly depleting. Despite this harrowing fact, California has no backup plan to address this crisis.
“California has no contingency plan for a persistent drought like this one (let alone a 20-plus-year mega-drought), except, apparently, staying in emergency mode and praying for rain,” stated Familglietti. “In short, we have no paddle to navigate this crisis.”

There is a whole ocean of water. I can’t believe that they haven’t figured out a way to filter it and use it. There’s got to be a way with all the technology we have available.
don’t forget the first time Brown was gov. he stopped all the planned new dams and storage facilities…. his actions an be considered the direct cause of our current water problem – we live in an arid state..duh… wonder how long before we have to start reciting what we did the last time Brown was gov – “if it’s yellow, its mellow; if it’s brown, flush it down’………
