Jay Familglietti, NASA’s top water scientist, recently warned that California has only a year’s supply of water left in storage facilities and the backup groundwater is rapidly depleting. Despite this harrowing fact, California has no backup plan to address this crisis.
“California has no contingency plan for a persistent drought like this one (let alone a 20-plus-year mega-drought), except, apparently, staying in emergency mode and praying for rain,” stated Familglietti. “In short, we have no paddle to navigate this crisis.”
UPDATE: California Gov. Jerry Brown issues ineffectual, mandatory water restriction as one-third of our nation’s crops are threatened. See Page 3 for updates.
MOVE TO PAGE 2:.

Next year California will be flooded and they still won’t have any place to store more water. They’re tearing down dams and diverting water to save the fish and then whine when there’s no water for the people. I really don’t understand why they aren’t bankrupt by now.
Water purification system.
Don’t be coming to Oklahoma or Texas. Lib-Loons have been banned. We like our America and we’re keeping our America.
Since when have republicans fixed things? It’s not their fortè to do anything but be against everything, except maybe starting war
Kenneth apparently this dude has never heard of a distillery plant.
I think it is time to start a recall campaign against our governor for his lack of foresight, and delaying any real action to address this problem until it was too little, too late! Time to flush Brown!
Lol. I’m not condoning republicans actions either. Where in my comment did I say such a thing?
Where are all the gays and communist going to go. Back to New York I guess.
Just give the rest to their Illegal population.
There is a backup plan and its called Solar Desalination Plants that do not put brine or salt back into the Pacific Ocean! I am doing everything I can talking to the State legislaters to at least look at it. Its not a NEW Plan as several of our friends in other Countries that have them have all the FRESH water they want.
