Jay Familglietti, NASA’s top water scientist, recently warned that California has only a year’s supply of water left in storage facilities and the backup groundwater is rapidly depleting. Despite this harrowing fact, California has no backup plan to address this crisis.
“California has no contingency plan for a persistent drought like this one (let alone a 20-plus-year mega-drought), except, apparently, staying in emergency mode and praying for rain,” stated Familglietti. “In short, we have no paddle to navigate this crisis.”

Isn’t half California suppose to drop off into the ocean anyway?
That picture proves nothing. I live by a reservoir that changes all year long. They hold water behind the dam and let it out. During the winter is nearly empty, they start filling it in spring, its full in summer and slowly drains out through the summer.
I HAVE DONE MY PART AND THE NEXT STEP IS TO STOP DRINKING WATER (NOT COFFEE) AND BATHING……..
Do you think in retrospect draining their water storage to flush out San Francisco bay to benefit a questionable smelt like fish? I say let them eat smelt.
