Jay Familglietti, NASA’s top water scientist, recently warned that California has only a year’s supply of water left in storage facilities and the backup groundwater is rapidly depleting. Despite this harrowing fact, California has no backup plan to address this crisis.
“California has no contingency plan for a persistent drought like this one (let alone a 20-plus-year mega-drought), except, apparently, staying in emergency mode and praying for rain,” stated Familglietti. “In short, we have no paddle to navigate this crisis.”

There is a not so nice do$#%&!@*entry that was made about the effects of farmers and corporations like nestle who have all contributed to this problem by over draining natural water sourses like the san juakin river. The person sho made the video was actually threatened by local farmers in part of his trip to do$#%&!@*ent how the river is all but dead. They need to put a stop to their lractices and clean up the river basin from all the debris and man made dams that divert and stop natural water flow. This could be a good start to getting much needed water to much of the state.
California has had water shortages and droughts for the last 40 years that I know of. IT IS A DAMN DESERT FOR GOD’S SAKE! Why have they not built additional resevoirs or de-salination plants? If their state leadership were actually worried about this and not gay rights and sanctuary for illegals, you might be better shape for water.
