Jay Familglietti, NASA’s top water scientist, recently warned that California has only a year’s supply of water left in storage facilities and the backup groundwater is rapidly depleting. Despite this harrowing fact, California has no backup plan to address this crisis.
“California has no contingency plan for a persistent drought like this one (let alone a 20-plus-year mega-drought), except, apparently, staying in emergency mode and praying for rain,” stated Familglietti. “In short, we have no paddle to navigate this crisis.”

Funny how people thing that a population of less than 300k in redding an surrounding arias can drain shasta lake lol. I’ve lived in redding my whole life. I say we just shut the gates on the dam for a bit and let SO Cal deal with finding there own power and water supply. They have more $ than we do and they have the voting majority so why don’t we just cut the state north of Sacramento. A couple thousand armed citizens could do that in a day. Watch how fast shasta lake fills up. Just one on a list of many reasons to get away from so cal. Enough of my rabble rousing.
The only problem with that is all of the liberals that live there are going to migrate to other states. No thanks, I would rather keep their stupidity concentrated as much as possible.
