American Freedom Defense Initiative President Pamela Geller expressed strong disapproval of Oprah’s interview with Soni. Writing in Breitbart, she said:
“Is there no one with a worldwide platform courageous enough to stand up in defense of freedom? Oprah could have made a real difference.
Oprah has a responsibility not to be a tool, not to be a stooge. Over the past 1,400 years up to today, hundreds of millions have been slaughtered in jihad wars, cultural annihilation, and enslavement in the cause of Allah. Do a show on that, Oprah.
Twenty percent of blacks in Mauritania are slaves under Muslim rule. Do a show on that, Oprah.
Slavery is sanctioned in Islamic text and teachings. Do a show on that, Oprah.
There have hundreds of jihad plots thwarted in America since 9/11 — do a show on that, Oprah.
Nothing in the Quran speaks to a ‘spiritual struggle.’ It’s all holy war.”
